BookLocalWork in New Zealand is a website at booklocalwork.co.nz (the "site") operated by [KIWIORANGE LEGAL NAME], New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) [NZBN], of [NZ ADDRESS] ("KiwiOrange", "we", "us", or "our"). KiwiOrange operates the site in New Zealand under a licence from SMCI Media, LLC, a Florida, United States limited liability company that owns the BookLocalWork software and brand. SMCI Media, LLC does not operate this site directly; KiwiOrange does.

BookLocalWork is a directory. It helps people in New Zealand find local tradies, and it passes along contact requests. That is all it does.
Some trades have their own dedicated booking and job management software, for example BookTreeWork for tree service businesses. That software is a separate product from this directory, is not provided under these terms, and has its own terms of use. Nothing in this document applies to that software.
Listings are compiled from public sources, including information tradies publish about themselves, and may be corrected or removed on request. A listing on this site is not an endorsement, recommendation, rating, or guarantee of any kind, whether of the quality of a tradie's work, their reliability, or their price.
Many trades in New Zealand must hold a current licence or registration before they may lawfully carry out certain work, for example:
BookLocalWork does not verify any tradie's licence, registration, insurance, qualifications, or right to work. Before you engage a tradie, it is your responsibility to check their current registration, for example on the relevant board's public register, and to satisfy yourself that they are appropriately licensed, insured, and suited to your job.
BookLocalWork does not guarantee the availability, conduct, workmanship, pricing, timeliness, or outcome of any tradie or any job arranged through the site. Any guarantee relating to goods or services supplied to you is owed to you by the tradie who supplied them, not by BookLocalWork or KiwiOrange.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any right or remedy you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified. Under section 43 of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, contracting out of that Act is only available between businesses, in writing, and only where it is fair and reasonable to do so; if you are a consumer, nothing in these terms is intended to contract out of that Act, and nothing here should be read that way.
We do not make, and ask that no listing on the site make, any representation about a tradie that is false or misleading in a way that would breach the Fair Trading Act 1986. If you see a listing that looks wrong, please tell us so we can correct or remove it.
You may use the site to search for tradies and to send a contact request. You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes, to provide accurate information in any request you send, and not to attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, or reverse engineer the site.
Where the site sends an electronic message on your behalf, for example passing your contact request to a tradie, or where we ever send you a commercial electronic message ourselves, that message will identify who sent it, include accurate sender details, and include a functional unsubscribe facility, consistent with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
The BookLocalWork name, logo, and site design belong to SMCI Media, LLC and are used in New Zealand by KiwiOrange under licence. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from the site except as needed to use it in the ordinary way.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KiwiOrange and SMCI Media, LLC are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, your dealings with a tradie, or any work performed, quoted, or arranged between you and a tradie. This does not limit any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If you have a claim within its jurisdiction, you may be able to bring it in the Disputes Tribunal rather than the courts.
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand, except for claims that qualify for the Disputes Tribunal.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, the date at the top of this page will change to reflect it.
